A week to commemorate ‘Injury Prevention’ is being proposed by various Societies with the intention of increasing awareness amongst general public. 01st to 7th September, has been proposed for the ‘Injury Prevention Week’ for outdoor activities across India, with prime focus of activities in schools and colleges for sensitizing the younger generation towards injury prevention.
During this week, the participating Societies would carry out activities as under:
• A press release would be issued around 20th August 2021 detailing all the activities planned for the week. The Ad hoc committee would circulate a draft press release which various societies could modify and translate to suit regional requirements. A press conference would be held by the Societies on 01st September 2021.
• Announcement of Injury Prevention Week would be displayed prominently on the websites of ASSI and associated Societies.
• The Prevention Audiovisuals and radio jingles would be made available on the website of participating Societies so that they could be downloaded and used by anyone for creating awareness. Participating Societies could endeavor to have them translated into regional languages, if this has not been already done. All members of the Societies would explore options to have them screened in the regional electronic media.
• The Societies would write to all allied specialty societies, NGO’s, foundations and associations in their region to make them aware about the initiative and request them to collaborate for its success through participating in the activities, displaying the theme and announcement on their website and sending a mailer to their members to make them aware about the initiative as well as solicit their participation.
• The possibility of selecting National Brand Ambassadors to propagate the message on injury prevention would be explored.
